Shoppers can Celebrate Lunar New Year with Traditional Décor and Lion Dance Performances

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (January 14, 2022) – To ring in the Year of the Tiger on February 1, Citadel Outlets will celebrate Lunar New Year with traditional décor and performances. From January 17 thru February 13, LA’s premier outlet shopping center will be decked out with a 17-foot Chinese pagoda display and red lanterns. To honor the ancient “Red Envelope” gifting tradition, Citadel Outlets will also give away 10,000 red envelopes filled with store discounts and gift cards at its Customer Service Center. In addition to receiving good luck and fortune, locals and visitors from around the world can immerse themselves in the rich culture and history surrounding the holiday and enjoy live performances by authentic lion dancers on January 29 and 30.

Citadel Outlets will honor the ancient “Red Envelope” gifting tradition beginning Monday, January 17 to Sunday, February 13, visitors can pick up red envelopes containing store discounts and gift cards from the center’s Customer Service Center. The tradition, symbolizing good luck and well wishes for the New Year, is a gift meant to express appreciation for the center’s wonderful shoppers and international visitors. Stores offering discounts in the Red Envelope Giveaway include Michael Kors, Kate Spade, Tommy Hilfiger, Hugo BOSS, Calvin Klein, GUESS, Levi’s, Cole Haan, Columbia and more.

On Saturday, January 29 and Sunday, January 30, traditional lion dancers will perform throughout the property and Center Court at Citadel Outlets. Performance times are at 12 p.m., 1 p.m., and 2 p.m. and last 10 to 15 minutes.

Guest can also visit the traditional Chinese pagoda display in Center Court from January 17 to February 13.
